Before you hire anyone

The questions worth asking any SEO agency — including us.

What do we actually receive?

Depends on the engagement, but always something concrete rather than a monthly report about activity. An audit ends with a prioritised list of findings and the exact changes each one needs. A retainer ends each month with changes live on your site, a re-score against the same 23 checks, and the Search Console numbers next to it. If you cannot point at what changed on your website, you are buying activity, not work.

Who owns the content, the code and the accounts?

You do, all of it, from the first day. Analytics, Search Console and Business Profile are created in your name or on your existing accounts — never on ours with access granted to you. Content and code we write are yours outright. This matters more than it sounds: agencies holding client accounts is the most common way businesses discover they cannot leave.

What happens if we stop working with you?

Everything stays live and stays yours. There is no plugin to remove, no proxy in front of your site, no licensed content that expires, and nothing that reverts. We hand over documentation of what was changed and why, and you keep every account. A retainer has a three-month minimum and is month to month after that.

Do you guarantee first-page rankings?

No, and you should treat any agency that does as a red flag. Nobody controls Google's results, so a guarantee is either meaningless or it is being met with keywords so obscure that ranking first for them is worthless. What we do guarantee is the work: the fixes are implemented, and the score is re-measured against the same checks so you can see movement rather than take our word for it.

What should we ask any SEO agency before signing?

Five things. Who does the work — the person on the call, or a subcontractor you never meet? Whose name are the accounts in? What exactly will be different on the site in ninety days? How is progress measured, and against what baseline? And can you leave, when, and what do you keep? Vague answers to any of those tend to predict how the engagement goes.

How do you report progress?

A fresh score each month against the same 23 checks, so you are comparing like with like, alongside Search Console impressions, clicks and positions for the queries we are targeting — split by language and country where you serve more than one. Plus a plain list of what changed on the site that month. No dashboard full of metrics nobody acts on.
